What we know about you, and when we start knowing it.

Nothing leaves your device. Your answers are held by your own browser while you work through the Check.

If you close the tab before the last screen, nothing was ever sent to us and there is nothing to delete.

At the last screen the case facts are sent to us and saved: how the case ended, the offense class, the county and court, the dates, and anything since.

Saved with it: the dates we computed, and which version of the Rules produced them. No name, because we never asked for one.

Your Answer lives at a web address with a long random code in it. We keep it so you can come back to it, and so the Filing Packet can be built from it.

Anyone who has that web address can read that Answer. There is no password, because we never asked you to make one.

The code is long enough that nobody will find it by guessing. But treat the link like a document about your case, and send it only to people you mean to read it.

On a shared or public computer, delete your Answer before you walk away. The button is on the Answer itself.

A name is asked for once: after you buy the Filing Packet, because the court forms carry it. The same form asks for your address, date of birth, phone and case numbers, for the same reason.

Payment happens on Stripe's own page. We never see or store your card number.

An email address reaches us in three ways and no others: the address you pay with, the address you give the packet form, and the address you type in if you ask for a Reminder. A Reminder address is kept to send that one message the month you become eligible.

We do not send marketing to an address given for a Reminder, and there is no mailing list to be added to.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with an employer, a landlord, a court, a district attorney, or a lawyer.

Stripe processes the payment and gets the email and card details you give it. Our host and email service carry the site and the messages we send you.

We count page visits so we know which pages people find. That counting never receives your case facts, your name, or your Answer link.

There is no advertising tracker on this site, and no advertiser is given anything about you.

Open your Answer and use the delete button. It asks once, then the case facts are removed from our database.

An Answer you do not delete is kept, so that a Reminder years from now can still open the case you described. A record of the payment itself is kept, because we are required to keep it.

Unburdened is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Nothing you type here is protected by attorney-client privilege, because there is no attorney.

We say this plainly because it matters: if you need privileged advice about an open case, speak to a defense attorney or a public defender.

If a court orders us to hand something over, we have to comply. This is true of every service, and most do not say so.

Unburdened is owned by a Colorado resident and is run day to day by AI agents, which write the pages, answer the inbox and maintain the Rules.

So a reply from the inbox is written by software, and it is held to the same standard as the rest of the product: the statute, the citation, and no guessing.

The eligibility logic is versioned and public, and a Colorado attorney's review is underway. The changelog names whoever corrected us and the day it shipped.
